Event returns to EpiCentre and PTC, debuts in Ballantyne
Charlotte, NC (May 5, 2010) – Alive After Five is gearing up for the biggest week in its 10-year history, giving Charlotteans three opportunities to take part in the area’s largest free, weekly happy hour celebration.
After a successful month at Wachovia Plaza, Alive After Five is returning to Pavilion at EpiCentre this Thursday, May 6, at 5 p.m. Taking the Bud Light Stage this Thursday is Simply Irresistible. This nine-piece band features an accomplished cast of singers and musicians, including Trina E. Solis, the sister of Grammy Award winning R&B singer-songwriter Toni Braxton.
Guests at Alive After Five will also have two new beverage options at EpiCentre. For wine lovers, the Vineyards will serve a variety of local and specialty wines, while cocktail aficionados will have the opportunity to purchase handcrafted margaritas courtesy of Vida Mexican Kitchen y Cantina, which opens at EpiCentre this summer.
This coming Thursday also marks the debut of Alive After Five at Ballantyne Commons East, featuring Coconut Groove Band. The inaugural Alive After Five Ballantyne series will run every Thursday night at 5 p.m. through June 10 at Ballantyne Commons East, 15205 John J Delaney Drive.
Last, but certainly not least, Alive After Five returns to Piedmont Town Center this Wednesday, May 5, for its second annual mid-week series. Headlining the first week at PTC is Too Much Sylvia, who boasts a long tradition of offering the most variety of music, including a versatile list of over 200 songs. Alive After Five PTC will run every Wednesday through June 30 at Piedmont Town Center, 4625 Piedmont Row Drive.
“The growth of Alive After Five would not be possible without the amazing support of the Charlotte community,” says Michael Stephens of Full House Productions. “We expanded to the South Park area with our PTC series last year, and it was a huge success. This year we are bringing the celebration to our neighbors in Ballantyne.
“We would also like to thank everyone at Wachovia Plaza for hosting Alive After Five uptown the past four weeks; it was great to relive the memories, but we are equally excited to return to home to Pavilion at EpiCentre this week.”
Alive After Five is how Charlotte kick-starts the weekend in style! As the city’s largest weekly happy hour and free entertainment celebration, Alive After Five provides a destination for friends and co-workers to gather and unwind, while enjoying great live music, tasty beverages, including a new addition this year – the Vineyards, featuring a variety of local and specialty wines – all in a fun, casual environment. With its prominent location, close to other great restaurants, bars and shopping, Alive After Five is the launching pad for Charlotte’s nightlife and entertainment.
